Jeju National University is a South Korean national university, which is situated in Jeju City, the provincial capital of Jeju Province. The university was founded in 1952. Jeju National University is one of the universities among 10 flagship Korean national universities in South Korea along with Seoul National University, Busan National University, Kyungpook National University, Chonnam National University, Chungnam National University, Chonbuk National University, Gyeongsang National University, Chungbuk National University and Kangwon National University. In 2008, Cheju National University and Jeju National University of Education were merged into Jeju National University.〔(Website of Jeju National University )〕 In Jeju National University, there are more than 1,402 instructors. About 2,500 first-year students are admitted each year. In addition, a graduate enrollment of around 2,364 is carried. Jeju island is a member of "The Provincial New 7 Wonders of Nature". ==History== In 1952, Cheju Provincial Junior College was founded, and became a four-year college in 1955. It became Cheju National College in 1962, with faculties of Law and Science.
